Enjoy Delicious Pan Asian Cuisine At Origami BKC

Stepping out for lunch after a hiatus, calls for something special, right? Besides, one is in a mood to explore a variety of cuisines rather than choose the comfort offered by a specialty restaurant. One such afternoon, left undecided between Mexican & Japanese, we decided to enjoy the best of both worlds. Spread across more than 7000 sq.ft, Origami in BKC seemed like an ideal choice that offered indulgence blended with sophistication.

We entered the spacious restaurant & immediately noticed a huge bar. Well lit & stylish, the welcoming bar felt like a great place to enjoy a couple of laid back drinks before settling down to dine. Stepping into the next section, a smiling chef worked his magic at a live counter. Furthermore, we loved the various private booths that offer an intimate dining experience to patrons. The well lit interiors are a great play of modern elements with comfortable seating that offer privacy to guests. 

We started with Casa Mia nachos. Served hot with re-fried beans, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream, they were delicious.

Moreover, the portion size was great to share between two without bordering on overwhelming. Next, we tried shrimp tacos- tempura prawns served with cabbage salad in juicy chipotle dressing...now, what's not to love about that? :-)

Further, the real surprise was the Japanese style Horenso salad -spinach salad with goma dressing. Savory & nutty, it made for a refreshing side dish. Moreover, the flavors of crushed nuts blended well with soy dressing.

For mains, we tried Zarandeado fish- a sumptuous preparation that featured local fish served in a adobo sauce, cabbage salad, char grilled avocados & flour tortillas. A great DIY, we had fun crafting our tortillas with the assortments. 

A platter of sushi tempted us next. Fresh & crafted expertly, it was finished in no time.

We tried a delectable coconut flan for dessert while chatting with Chef Daniel Punzo. 

Having tried a myriad variety of flavors, we called it a day while deciding to try the Powai outpost too. Origami, BKC serves Japanese, Korean & Mexican cuisine in a huge luxurious space. Valet parking is available on request. Origami has another outlet at Powai that features an authentic Kerala restaurant too. 

So, if you are entertaining guests over a business luncheon or stepping away from your desk to satiate hunger pangs, Origami in BKC is a great option. Also, on offer are delicious Japanese, Korean & Mexican bento box menus that make a great working lunch option. The Japanese & Korean priced at INR 700, offer a huge variety & come along with a serving of salad, side dish, rice & soup. Besides, the Mexican bento box is economically price at INR 600 & feature favorites like guacamole, re fried beans, grilled vegetables & more.
