DIY - How to Make Caramalised Onions at Home
Onions when slowly cooked and allowed to caramelise add flavour to a variety of dishes - pizza, sandwiches, burgers, meats or even rice.

Slice onions (red or white, both work) into half rings. The quantity you want to caramelize depends on you as leftover onions keep in fridge upto a week.
- Heat cooking oil in a heavy bottomed pan, take approximately one tablespoon oil for each onion.
- Add a pinch of salt and stir fry till they become golden.
- If the onions stick to the bottom of the pan, add a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and stir. Add one tablespoon brown sugar to add extra flavour.
- Switch off the flame and allow to cool.
- Store in fridge or use in sandwiches, burgers, pizza and more.
