Piña Colada Recipe

Utter the word  Piña Colada and it will surely teleport you to a sun-kissed sandy beach vacation. One of the world’s most favorite cocktails, Piña Colada was born in Puerto Rico and was declared the national drink in 1978 with 10 July being celebrated as National Pina Colada day.

Piña Colada quickly cemented its place in pop culture through the iconic chorus: “If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain” in the hit song “Escape” by Rupert Holmes in 1979 also known as “The Piña Colada Song".

This tropical divinity which literally means "strained pineapple" in Spanish is a smooth blend of Pineapple, Coconut cream and light Rum. Just run the three in a blender with crushed ice and serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg. This lathery foam is second to none, we say in unison.

Ingredients:
180 ml Pineapple juice
60 ml White rum
60 ml Coconut cream
5-6 chunks of fresh pineapple

Preparation: Mix ingredients in a blender with 1/2 cup of crushed ice until smooth. Pour into chilled poco grande glass, garnish with maraschino cherry or pineapple slice and serve.
