Moonlight Margarita Recipe
The Moonlight Margarita is a simple twist on the classic recipe with a single ingredient to give you a beautiful blue colour which will remind you of the azure waters of Maldives, Greece or our very own Andaman Islands.
The blue colour comes from blue curacao (a liqueur flavoured with the dried peel of the Laraha Citrus fruit, grown on the island of Curaçao) which replaces triple sec in the original recipe but what you get is a pretty looking cocktail with the same delicious taste.
Here is what you need:
- 45 ml Tequila
- 30 ml Blue curacao
- 30 ml Fresh lime juice
- Coarse or Kosher salt for rimming
Garnish: lime wedge
Serve ware: Margarita Glass
How to make it:
- Take a Margarita glass and rub the drinking surface with a lime wedge and dip the edge into coarse or Kosher salt.
- Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake well and pour into the prepared glass.
- Garnish with the lime wedge.
The Moonlight Margarita can be served over the rocks, straight up or blended with ice.
