we need to plan our travels keeping in mind the limited time we get off
from busy schedules. Thailand is one of the most preferred international

Krabi, a province on southern Thailand’s Andaman coast has multiple attractions ranging from national parks, quiet beaches, adventure activities & unmatched natural beauty. Explore Krabi On a Rented Bike:
Whether you choose to stay in Ao Nang- Krabi's vibrant tourist center, middle of bustling & authentic Thai town- Krabi town, Nopparat Thara- an upcoming tourist destination or Klong Muang- a pretty beach area located to the north of Ao Nang, there is lot to explore in Krabi on a rented bike. We stayed in Ao Nang as its located in vicinity of quiet a few attractions, making it easy to plan day trips. Many roadside motorbike rentals offer bikes on rent & take deposit in cash & passport copies. Do look for an authentic agency & avoid handing over your original passport.
Spend a Day At One A Fabulous Beach:
Krabi beaches offer you a brilliant tropical getaway with emerald waters, white sands, hidden coves & offshore islands. The one on the must visit list is Railay Peninsula. Reachable only by long tail boats, getting here early as there is much to explore. We landed on Railay West before heading to Railay East, then Phranang Beach on foot. There are many activities to keep you busy- sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. The crystal clear waters allow you glimpses of beautiful & colorful marine life. We spent lazy afternoons on Nopparat Thara Beach that lies close to Ao Nang town & is popular among locals. Other popular beaches are Ao Nang beach & Klong Muang - a more quieter beach ideal for couples looking to spend some quiet time together.
Enjoy a Long tail Boat Ride:
A long tail boat ride is a classic & traditional way to go island hopping in Krabi. We suggest you hire your own boat that comes with a guide so that you can spend time on the islands you visit as per choice. Rentals for private boats start from 1700 THB. Also, check the safety equipment of the boat before starting.
Visit Tiger Cave Temple:
Located 3 kms from Krabi town, Tiger Cave Temple complex is a meditation center & place of archaeological and historical interest. Many tourists & locals attempt the steep 1,272 step climb to see the "Footprint of the Buddha". We tried the steep climb but gave up due to the heat and humidity. People who make it to the top often talk about the stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside and the Andaman Sea.
Shop At The Fabulous Day & Night Markets:
Krabi offers a fabulous choice for shopping enthusiasts. Instead of big shopping malls, tourists can indulge in shopping at one of the fabulous road side markets at Krabi. Ao Nang main beach road has many shops that sell souvenirs, beach essentials, clothes & more. After a tiring day, one can also indulge in foot massages in one of the shops at reasonable prices. Ao Nang Night Plaza is also a good option if you are busy on the beaches during the day. The Krabi night market encourages sale of local produce & handicrafts & the best part is we relished many local delicacies while watching live performances....the best way to experience the real taste of Krabi.
Relish Fresh Fruits:
All over Krabi & at especially Krabi city market, you shall find a good variety of fresh fruits that you can savor. Apart from regular fruits like oranges & cut pineapples are great to have after snorkeling & swimming, do try Pomelos, Rambutan, Custard apple, lychees, papaya & more
Kayak In The Mangroves:
Kayaking is a great way to explore the dramatic scenery of Krabi in an unhurried fashion. Many guided tours offer an unmatched experience around Ao Luk in the north, mangrove and canyons at the southern tip of Phang Nga Bay. Some experiences take you through the ancient limestone caves. Koh Hong an island in Krabi is also a great kayaking site with a hidden lagoon at its center.
Go Snorkeling in Emerald Water:
The clear emerald waters of Krabi offer a great snorkeling experience. We did snorkeling at Railay beach which has beautiful shallow waters & ample marine life. From Ao Nang or Krabi Town there are snorkeling day trips to the Phi Phi Islands including Bamboo Island. These islands are less than one hour away by speedboat and run all year round.
Scuba Dive:
The best part about Krabi is that it offers lot of fun above & below the water for all. There are many dive sites in Krabi near Ao Nang Beach area & many professional companies arrange day trips to Phi Phi Islands & the Shark Point- Anemone Reef area. The best weather for scuba diving id January till March.
Eat Good Food:
Apart from restaurants, delectable local food can be enjoyed in Krabi in local markets that sell street foods along with other items, night markets that comprise of stalls selling souvenirs, open air food courts as well as walking street markets. Dont forget to take some delicious Thai curry paste home to enjoy a taste of Krabi even after your vacation ends :D.
