Singapore With Le Max2
The plane kissed the runway softly, announcing my arrival in Singapore. I stepped into the massive & glittering Changi airport and feasted my eyes on beautiful installations, restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, a movie theater, sunflower & orchid garden & spas tempting with a promise of bliss. International brand stores in the duty free section anchored fashion forward merchandise and I couldn’t resist a sneak peak into a few of my favorite stores. I connected my Le Max2 to the airport wifi marveling at its high-res 5.70-inch touchscreen display & started making a tentative plan to make the most of my Singapore visit....yes this time I had flown without a fixed itenary armed with just my brand new Le Max2 & my adventurous spirit.
I am not a very DSLR person & find it cumbersome to carry, especially in cities like Singapore where one walks a lot. The Le Max2 had just arrived & after studying its specs, I had decided to explore the fabulous Singapore city with its 32 GB edition. The powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor & 4GB of RAM promised a seamless experience while multi tasking between apps & easy storage of numerous pictures clicked. I was especially kicked about trying the 21-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front camera.
I stepped out from the airport, hailed a cab and zipped through a city and took in the brilliant skyline dotted with high rises and sprawling gardens. After resting for a bit, I headed out to explore the multi cultural food scene at East Point mall in Simei & settled down to dine a Mala hotpot dinner- a brilliant wok concept that allows you to choose between seasonal greens, protein, type of sauce & portion size. You can find more outlets across the city with the one in Chinatown being extremely popular.
Next day was dedicated to the famed Orchard road for an instant wardrobe overhaul that could cause mass envy back home. After shopping, I headed to Newtons for a late lunch to relish Chili crab (stir-fried crab topped with sweet, savory and spicy tomato based sauce). I ended my day with the signature Singapore Sling at Raffles hotel. The powerful 3100mAh battery of Le Max2 lasted me the whole day as I clicked selfies, searched routes, accessed maps & was active on chatting & social media sites. The dual SIM feature of the phone that accepted two Nano-SIM had made my life easier & helped me stay connected throughout my stay with family & friends in India & Singapore. Pro Tip- check local stores like Bysi & Nineth that usually have fabulous deals.
Third day arrived along-with a few showers that brought down the temperatures the pool looked inviting for a quick dip. I headed to Promenade station via MRT (railway system of Singapore with single trip tickets costing around SGD 1 or less depending on peak or off-peak rates) & boarded a Hop off Hop On bus from Suntec city- a great way to explore key landmarks of the city. Choose a package deal starting from SGD 43 to do multiple routes from 9 am till 6 pm daily. Do not miss a ride on the Singapore Flyer that shows panoramic views of the key landmarks from Marina Bay to the Singapore river. Pro Tip- Start early to avoid heat & humidity & decided on routes before hand. The ticket is valid for 24 hours but check operating hours at the counters.
A trip to Sentosa Islands & Universal is like living a dream with your eyes open. Soak in the scenic views of the man-made beaches of Sentosa, enjoy rides or head to Universal studios for a day full of fun. Pro Tip- choose the cable car ride from Mount Faber to double the Sentosa/Universal visit fun.
My visit to the UNESCO heritage site- Botanic Gardens was an unforgettable experience. Rare, colorful & exquisite orchids are on display here along with lush green plant species. Carry water/juices & packed lunch to enjoy a picnic in beautiful environs. Pro tip- Wear comfortable footwear, this visit involves a lot of walk & the Orchid garden, located inside closes before the Botanic Gardens.
In the evening Gardens by the bay is a must visit with its Super-trees & dancing lights show. The show is hosted daily everyday so do check for timings before the visit. The Le Max 2 camera clicked crisp pictures of the show even in low light conditions & I could not resist but take a video of the colorful show to take back with me.
The exhilarating Singapore nightlife beckoned me to places like Lantern (Fullerton Bay Hotel Rooftop Level), 1-Altitude (1 Raffles Place) & Clarke Quay (an entertainment riverside destination open anytime of the day till late). I danced the night away at Prive after enjoying a live band at Mc Gettigans, both located at Clarke Quay. Pro Tip- check for ladies night offers on Wednesday nights.
As I bid goodbyes to the city of Singapore, I looked at the pictures clicked by my Le Max2 that would become unforgettable memories. The supertainment content package of the Le Max2 kept me company through my visit & I enjoyed a seamless gaming experience during travel breaks. The only thing I did not get used to was the Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) Type-C USB port & kept searching for the 3.5mm audio jack while listening to music!
