Afternoon Tea at La Farine Café and Bakery, JW Marriott Marquis

You can’t buy Happiness, but you can buy tea and that’s kind of the same thing. It was our last day at Dubai and we wanted to make it memorable and full of happy thoughts. Moreover, having shopped our way through almost all the malls, we decided to settle back with a cup of tea. And gaze at one of the tallest skyline on the planet. But we were in a fix. We needed a special place to savor the purest form of a simple pleasure known to us- a cup of aromatic tea. Hence, we headed to the World’s tallest hotel- JW Marriott Marquis located at one of the most desirable locations in Dubai.

As soon as we stepped into La Farine, a contemporary French Café and Bakery, we were taken by its elegant high-ceiling interiors. Located on the ground floor, the bakery boasts of a well laid out indoor dining area and a small outdoor area. In addition, mirrors, tantalizing play of dark green and black shades in furniture and upholstery, plush velvet sofas and huge glass windows add a touch of sophistication. We settled at a table placed near a tall glass window. And opted for the award winning afternoon tea service.

A quick browse of the tea menu revealed many of our favorites. However, we chose “Currant Dream” blend. In addition, one can also opt for coffee. Order taken, a server placed fresh and juicy berries on our table- a nice start.

Next, came a big three-tiered tray full of mini treats- éclairs, macaroons, bite-sized pastries and small sandwiches- cucumber and cheese plus tuna and salmon.

Delectable, fresh and perfectly sized, we finished them and waited for our next treat. Soon a platter of hot quiches arrived.

Next came the scones- fresh warm and served with blueberry jam and clotted cream, they made an irresistible foodie combo.

Satiated but still eager to try the last treat. A choice between delicious teacakes…chocolate, raspberry and cranberry. We tried the cranberry flavor. In addition, ordered another round of tea to complete the gourmet experience.

Verdict:

If you love relishing afternoon tea with mouth-watering treats in an opulent atmosphere, head to La Farine Café and Bakery. Delicious baked goods, crafted Barista coffee and teas- white, green, vintage and herbal and sweet treats along with top notch hospitality add to the signature experience. Not in the mood for an elaborate tea service? Try their freshly baked breads, sandwiches, baguettes and pastries from a take away counter. JW Marriott Marquis, the tallest five-star in the world, delights you with its delectable afternoon tea and lavish hospitality. Also, while leaving peek at the beautifully crafted cakes at the cake studio. They may be not as tall as the Burj Khalifa but are a spectacle no less.
