European Union unveils, "Restaurant Week" in Mumbai, a culinary delight for our taste buds.
Want to experience Europe's rich culinary heritage without taking an expensive trip? Want to sample the finest cheese's, sip and swirl the finest wines and savor olives, right here in Mumbai? From 6th September till 12th September, 10 participating restaurants have prepared special menus for the "Restaurant Week", an extension of "Tastes of European" campaign conducted by European Union. With an aim to increase consumer awareness about European dishes, ingredients and flavours in India, the festival has collaborated with finest restaurants that serve European cuisine.
Take your pick from the following restaurants, that have crafted speciality dishes to tickle the Indian taste buds:
- Olive Bar and Kitchen, Khar
- Vetro at The Oberoi, Nariman Point
- Prego at Westin, Goregaon
- Salt Water Cafe, Churchgate
- Smoke House Deli, Bandra Kurla Complex
- Olio at Novotel, Juhu
- Indigo Deli, Colaba
- Nido, Bandra
- Botticino at Trident, Bandra Kurla Complex
- Maritime by San Lorenzo, Taj Lands End, Bandra
The 3 week long campaign also marks the first ever participation of European Union (EU) in the 9th Edition of the Annapoorna World of Food India Exhibition 2014 from 24th to 26th September in Mumbai. EU has planned a 20 day gastronomic feast to help food aficionados in Mumbai understand European ingredients and flavours better. Initiatives like workshops and seminars have been planned with European culinary experts to highlight the quality of the processed foods from Europe.
About the European Union (EU):
The EU, that consists of 28 countries, boasts of having the world's largest economy and third largest population after China and India. Rich diversity is evident across the countries (member states) that make up the EU but commitment to same basic values: peace, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights bind them together. The member states have adopted a single currency, Euro and a frontier free single market that has boosted the trade and economy.
