Review: Classy Ambience and Delicious Food at Smoke House Deli

What You See

Conveniently placed in the heart of Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, Smoke House Deli gets full marks on the location. The entrance is opposite Sofitel, on the back road. On a bright Thursday evening, we reached the restaurant and were hosted at a spacious table overlooking a large window. Well-spaced tables were abuzz with friendly corporate banter, as smiling staff went around taking orders. Handmade doodles cover off-white walls, knick-knacks like telephones, vases and gramophone. The menu is covered with doodles too and lends a classy touch to the warm ambience. The open bar is lined with a variety of international and domestic liquors, inviting one to indulge. Water is served, laced with refreshing taste of citrus fruits or herbs. 

What you Get

The all day restaurant serves variety of breakfast, main course, appetizers, dessert dishes and a few more meals to pick and choose from. What caught our eye were the cheekily named Burgers. The bar menu is impressive with a wide choice of interesting mocktails, cocktails and premium liquors. The day we visited, SHD was hosting an interesting happy hours concept-refreshing and peachy cocktails like Red and White Sangria, Mojito, Daiquiri and Martinis could be ordered in bundles of 3 at a price one wishes for sans sharing. 

With wide smiles we placed an order of Sangria and a Watermelon Daiquiri, scribbled a price and started surfing the menu for appetizers. A breadbasket with herbed butter arrived with our drink and we settled back to soak in the pleasant atmosphere.

We ordered the Peri Peri Rubbed Chicken Satay, as it was one of the very few chicken appetizers served grilled. Juicy, hot and served with a nice presentation it was a delight to have. We gobbled the scrumptious appetizer and it was soon time for another one to be ordered.  As we were too early to enjoy main course, we settled for another appetizer- Spiced Chicken Panko Strips. They arrived in a large Whisky Glass with herbed relish on the side. Though tasty they got really cold and hard by the time we were done with them as they were fried.  We wrapped up and the place started filling up with revelers making a pit stop to bring in an early weekend.

Verdict

We had an amazing experience dining at the classy Smoke House Deli except for a fly that troubled us for a while. When, we brought it to the servers notice, it was acknowledged and resolved immediately. The food is delicious and the ambience classy.  Even with happy hours, the pricing is a little steep. Patrons may reserve their visits to special occasions. Smoke House Deli makes dining a pleasure with its warm and welcoming vibe, delicious food and excellent attentive service. Valet Parking is available.
